Happy Birthday success, ingenuity, achievement, and destiny. Now free people may strive for anything they wish, but only when they are willing to sacrifice what it takes to do so.
Happy Birthday mankind. For the first time in the modern world, the concept that government exists to serve the people, not enslave the people, should those people choose to stand up for themselves gets a chance to prove it’s worth.
Happy Birthday American Exceptionalism! The crazy experiment of a constitutional democratic republic by farmers and planters, merchants and entrepreneurs, writers and printers, thinkers and philosophers, and a very reluctant land surveyor-turned-general is a success. A success that created the greatest superpower the world has ever known. A success that created the most moral, God-fearing and hardest working middle class in the history of man. America is a success that turned out to be a shining city on a hill, and is recognized as the last best hope of man on earth. To re-phrase Benjamin Franklin, Americans were given a republic; it is the job of Americans to do what it takes to keep it.
